RECALL for the Passenger AIRBAG

Campaign No. 3502 Recall Start Date 2015/1/16
Description of Defect The forming process and the moisture absorption prevention step of the propellant were inappropriate. In addition, the incorrect propellant wafers could not be completely screened due to inappropriate screening operation at the forming process of the propellant wafer. As a result, certain incorrect propellant wafers might be included among the products. The front passenger air bag inflator contains propellant wafers that are required to properly deploy the air bag. Some incorrect propellant wafers with insufficient density might be installed in certain inflators. This may cause the internal pressure of the inflator to rise excessively during air bag deployment. In certain cases, the inflator housing may rupture and the metal fragments may scatter, which can lead to smolder or lead to be got injured the passenger.
